The Washington Technology Industry Association -- formerly the WSA -- is hosting its annual Industry Achievement Awards tonight at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle.
YouTube's Suzie Reider is speaking at the moment about the growth of the 2-year-old online video service, noting that every minute 10 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube.
Strangely, the video component of the presentation -- a key element for showcasing YouTube -- wasn't working too well.
Reider said it was a bit comical that YouTube couldn't show videos and that the technology industry couldn't get it to work.
"I wish we had video because it feels like a shame to not show it when you are talkiing about YouTube," she said.

Forget the ad space altogether. It's time that Microsoft to show the long term vision that created their success in the first place. Clearly there are far more valuable, provocative and lucrative problems for technology to solve than consumer spending and entertainment. It's time for the Blue Monster to think bigger thoughts."

I agree with the irony expressed by Ms Reider. Your comment is a bit out of context though. Was at the session - and it was rather clear that this was an AV problem (the slides and video were on a DVD) .. not a problem with YouTube.
