Sampa founder Marcelo Calbucci has once again released his monthly rankings of the top Seattle startups.
Here are the top 10 for December based on their average ranking in Alexa and Compete.com, which we have noted before is a rough guide to a startup's overall traffic.
Calbucci, who added 29 new startups this month to bring the list to 228, notes some of the top climbers for the month were YourSports, Jambool, Formotus, Fyreball and Style du Jour. Those who took the biggest plunge were Yodio, Phrasetrain, GeoJoey, Illumita and Goose Networks. Jobster also fell out of the top 10, dropping from seventh to 15th place. Newsvine, Judy's Book, Twango and Findory were removed from the list either due to acquisition or closure.

Forget the ad space altogether. It's time that Microsoft to show the long term vision that created their success in the first place. Clearly there are far more valuable, provocative and lucrative problems for technology to solve than consumer spending and entertainment. It's time for the Blue Monster to think bigger thoughts."

I am surprised that Farecast is not on the list. That is a really useful website and based on the holiday travel season, I thought it would make the top 10 for sure.
Oh well. I like Farecast, and I definitely have used it to help decide when to buy airline tix (it helped...one day the tickets were $800+ / tix to Florida...Farecast predicted the ticket prices would go down, and a few days later, the tix was only about $500 / tix...a big savings for my husband and I).
I hope other people start seeing the beauty of Farecast so that it stays around. It provides a much needed service in travel planning!
