Huh. I wonder if they'll finally share 15% of the revenue with the users who helped build the site, like they promised way back in 2001. Somehow, I doubt it...

I am giddy with the thought that publishing companies are spending $66MM and $25MM for sites that have, get this, 404 recipes for peanut butter cookies. Is it a cooincidence that "404" is the http error code for "not really there?"

Makes me want to short all publishing companies, who must be taking desperate measures in desperate times. This in spite of the bold predictions they all made years ago that print would not die.

Next up? Realtors. Then lawyers. Put them all on Mechanical Turk, I say.

I spent two weeks creating optimum meal plans for me - getting the mix of protein,carbohydrates and fats right for each meal. I thought I was on to a winner with Recipezaar and bookmarked meals that met my needs. Now, it's all gone; the recipes, my cookbooks, my reviews - without any warning. As far as I can see, the site has minimum content. Those Scripps people ain't ever going to see me.
