After raising $2 million, PeerWisdom changes name to Trusera

PeerWisdom, the online health information startup whose $2 million angel round I wrote about earlier this month, has changed its name to Trusera and disclosed some of its backers.

The company, led by former Amazon executives Keith Schorsch and Ruben Ortega, plans to launch its service later this year.

Investors in the deal include Erik Blachford, the former chief executive of Expedia who now runs TerraPass; Christopher Ackerley, a partner at Ackerley Partners; Kim Rachmeler, vice president of worldwide discovery at Amazon.com; Craig Tall, vice chair of corporate development at Washington Mutual; and Benaroya Capital, a Seattle venture capital firm.

YES...now they will succeed. It was their name, and only their name, that was holding them back!

I don't think either name is very good.

True doctors and medical personnel should be working with patients, not websites, particularly startup websites, most of which will fail and never save any patient.

most doctors have several jobs. at least research scientists do. and that is exactly who i would want to run a site such as this. wheres the domain expertise?

Heckler Associates created the name Trusera for Peer Wisdom. Heckler also named Starbucks, Panera, K2, Qdoba, Encarta, Visio, etc.

FEATURED COMMENT

PictureForget the ad space altogether. It's time that Microsoft to show the long term vision that created their success in the first place. Clearly there are far more valuable, provocative and lucrative problems for technology to solve than consumer spending and entertainment. It's time for the Blue Monster to think bigger thoughts."
