"The Da Vinci Code" hasn't even hit theaters yet and already there is an official online store and protests from the Vatican.

Now, thanks to the efforts of a Seattle Internet company, "The Da Vinci Code" even has its own wiki where fans of Dan Brown's book and Ron Howard's upcoming film can add their own theories, edit text and post comments.

Seattle's Wetpaint along with Dan Burstein, editor of "Secrets of the Code: the Unauthorized Guide to the Mysteries behind the Da Vinci Code," unveiled the Web site this week in anticipation of the May 19 release of the movie.

Visitors to the site can read history about the Knights Templar, The Holy Grail and Opus Dei or post their own conspiracy theories on topics such as whether Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.

In the spirit of a wiki, nearly all of the content can be edited.

"I'm really interested in seeing how the community takes this content and makes it their own," said Burstein, who may use some of the insights to write a new book.

Wetpaint spokesman Jason Reindorp said this is the first time that the company has partnered with a published author to create a wiki around a specific topic, though he said other deals are in the works. Wetpaint unveiled its service March 6, with a full launch expected early this summer. At that time, people will be able to use the publishing tools to create wikis around family reunions, youth sporting leagues or any other topic of interest.
