RF Surgical Systems raises $8.2 million

Bellevue's RF Surgical Systems has raised $8.2 million from Menlo Ventures and Stanford University, bringing the total amount it has raised to more than $20 million, according to P-I reporter John Cook.

RF Surgical uses radio frequency ID tags to alert physicians if sponges, gauze or towels remain in a patient near the end of surgery.

Read more about the deal on Cook's blog, here, and in the press release, here.
