Pierce County photo
A sewage worker at a Pierce County wastewater treatment center wasn't sure the snake he spotted was real, so he poked it with a radio antenna.
He got his answer when the snake rose, soon making a strike at another employee.
The discovery of the white corn snake, more than four feet long, at the Chambers Creek Wastewater Plant, is reported in this Associated Press story.
The snake was put in a bucket, with the help of a rake, and turned over to the Humane Society.
