A few quick programming notes:
If you look over on the right, you'll see we've just added a feature where you can upload your photos for submission to the Big Blog.
We've gotten so many good tips from readers we figured we'd try to make it easier for you to send us what you see going on in Seattle.
Just remember that when you upload your photo, you confirm that it's yours and give us permission to use it on our site. We, of course, will credit. Any questions? Ask away.
While we're at it, I'll point out a couple other new features you may have noticed on the blog in the last couple weeks.
Meet up
Every Wednesday about 5:30 p.m., I go to a different coffee shop in Seattle and invite readers to come by and say hi. It's a no fuss, no hassle weekly meetup, and a casual way to meet your fellow newsies. Some weeks just a couple people come. Other times, a dozen. It's all good. Today I'm headed to the Uptown Espresso in West Seattle. Here are some photos from last week's gathering at Motore Coffee taken by participant Dave Schappell.
Featured comment
We get all kinds of comments -- long, short, happy, angry. When I see something particularly smart or insightful on an issue, I'll highlight it here. If you see one you think deserves that honor, let me know.

The Big Blog is now on Twitter, and so am I. If you're not familiar with that site, it's a kind of online billboard where people communicate with large networks of "followers" via 140-character messages called "tweets." (If you haven't tried it, you should.) Get Big Blog headlines by following @bigblog. Get updates from me through @moniguzman -- or by checking in to the tweet feed in this section.
Recommended reading
Once there were only paid reporters. Now there are all sorts. Here are a few links to the local blogs I'm reading and some posts that stand out as I check them throughout the day.
You can subscribe to Big Blog posts through our RSS feed, get headlines and summaries of Big Blog posts to use on your site, and become a fan on Facebook. As always, feedback is welcome. Send me a note.
