Calling all nudists for "Body Acceptance Day" on Saturday

A group of perky naturists is calling on Pacific Northwesterners to remove their clothing for "day without bathing suits" on Saturday.

If you're in the mood to go in the nude, check out Wreck Beach in British Columbia, where much of the nakedness will take place.

The event is being put on by the Wreck Beach Preservation Society. The group is also encouraging people to "liberate other beaches by daring to be bare."

Area naturists have been inspired by similar nude days staged in Spain over the last few years, according to a news release.

Wreck Beach organizers say that after visitors pass through their "Body Acceptance Machine" (don't ask me) they'll receive a "Naked Passport" which allows them to partake of naked volleyball, body painting and other fun things.

It'll be a day of "naked fun," organizers say.

If it rains, however, the special day will be postponed until the 31st.

Their website photos are what you would expect a bunch of naked Canadians to look like. Yeesh. I would say this one is a couple negative notches away from the Fremont Solstice Aint Nuders Great bike ride, which is many many notches down from a nude beach worth visiting. At least the beach is very difficult to get to. Nobody is going stumble on this by accident.

They are worried about banning smoking on wreck beach, but the photos of old fat naked people are more of an eyesore than the cigarette butts.

Body acceptance is just another way of saying fat and lazy with bad eating habits.

Most of you seem to miss the point. You don't become a nudist to see naked people, you become a nudist to be naked people. Those of you who go in search of titilation are the problem. You are the ones one looking for sexual meaning where there is none. Nudists enjoy the feeling of water on skin, not the feeling they get from gawking at skin.
