With gas prices as high as they are, it takes a lot to get me on the road beyond Seattle city limits.

To get to the Emerald Queen Casino, you have to drive nearly 40 miles from Seattle to Tacoma.

To see concerts once you're there, you have to file past seeming miles of penny slots, roulette and 21 tables and clouds of cigarette smoke.

But it was worth it to see Pat Benatar Friday night.

Benatar showed she rocks-n-rules the B-list. As in: Bad Ass.

Teaming up with her husband of 26 years, lead guitarist Neil "Spyder" Giraldo, she bridged the gap between young and old, giving a performance that showed there's still a lot of life left in a still hard rockin' singer and her full-sleeves tattooed better half, who called her Patricia all night. As if that would soften a singer whose powerful pop punk spirit inspired legions of rocker grrrls.
