Kurt Cobain back in the limelight

Could we ever forget Kurt Cobain, the Nirvana frontman who revolutionized music but then sadly committed suicide in 1994?

The rock star could be back in the headlines soon because there's a new tell-all book coming out in September written by former Nirvana manager Danny Goldberg.

Though details are scant, the book includes stories about a variety of rockers and has details of Cobain's drug use and tumultuous marriage to Courtney Love.

It's called 'Bumping into Geniuses' and you can pre-order it on Amazon.com.

Cobain has always been a controversial figure in the Pacific Northwest. Among music-lovers he's widely seen as a visionary. But some people think he corrupted youth and even - shudder - worshipped Satan.

Meanwhile, a group called the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee is throwing a concert on Sept. 13 to raise money to build a youth center in Aberdeen.

Though Cobain sometimes disparaged his hometown, committee members believe he's due more respect in town than he's gotten.

You can get tickets for the concert here.

Love the music but he's dead-headless, who cares!?

What's wrong with worshiping Satan? Isn't that just the other side of the Christian coin? If he was worshiping Pinhead, I'd be concerned.

That "Worshipped Satan" link was sure good for a laugh!
RIP Kurt

the only nirvana products ive bought since he died have been things that dave and krist have put together. because they were actually in the band and deserve it.

the one exception would be film "about a son." it was the non-profit movie about the tapes that were recorded for the book "come as you are" by micheal azerad.

i miss him a lot though...

I'm really tired of hearing Kurt "committed suicide". Anyone who has any sort of knowledge on the subject knows that Courtney had everything to do with his death. Such a shame that after all this time, there isn't more of an investigation on her involvement.

I guess Kurt Cobain is destined to be the 90's version of 60's icon Jim Morrison.

Every few years, someone else close to him will drag out his corpse and people will line up to look at it.

YES!! I agree with anonymous, I hate hearing, and reading, about Kurt's suicide. At the very least, the case should be reopened due to the shoddy police work. Protocal was not followed, people screwed up the investigation, etc. I hope I live to see justice served for Kurt Donald Cobain.
