It's in August and not October. Still, a world series is coming to Seattle.
The Gay Softball World Series will be played on several fields in the Seattle area.
The series is put on by the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance, which runs a network of gay and lesbian softball leagues. It was started about 30 years ago. According to the organization, the softball world series annually attracts more than 4,000 participants.
Seattle seems to attract gay softball games for some reason. Among the most famous games is the annual Dykes vs. Drag Queens event. Here are some photos .
The world series, however, is far different. It's not meant to a funny fund-raiser. It's real competition. And the players are some of the best in the country.
