The bulls will run in Belltown

Seattle comes up with some weird ways to raise money.

Tonight in Belltown, Txori Bar is hosting a fundraiser for the Puget Sound Blood Center in which three paint-tipped bulls will chase participants down the alleyway between Bell and Blanchard Streets.

Yup. The Running of the Bulls festival is up and running in Pamplona, Spain. What else was a Spanish restaurant going to do?

"We figured that with people being gored by fake bulls with fake blood, that we might as well do something to give back to the community," said Txori's Matty McCaslin.

One "bull" is made out of a shopping cart, another is propped on a dolly and a third is a table a couple guys are going to be carrying around.

A Puget Sound Blood Bank blood mobile is parked in front of the Second Avenue restaurant. Oh, and the paint on the tips of the foam horns is washable.

Registration is $20 for the 8 p.m. event. Thanks to Belltowner for the tip.

Leave it to Seattle fake bulls and fake basketball teams, no wonder the NBA left.

FEATURED COMMENT

PictureI am more interested in the state gubernatorial race than the national one. It is almost a forgone conclusion that Obama will take this state. With the tight race for governor, every vote will count."
