Death Cab rolls out new album

Picture

Last month, they opened for the Dalai Lama. On Tuesday, Seattle-based band Death Cab For Cutie rolls out their new set of songs.

"Narrow Stairs" is their seventh album and a departure from their pop past, according to some critics. The band -- singer-songwriter Ben Gibbard, guitarist-producer Chris Walla, bass player Nick Harmer and drummer Jason McGerr -- have been at it 10 years.

You can hear clips from the new songs on the band's MySpace page. Or, if you're up for it, head down to the Liberty Bar at 517 15th Ave. E. for a 10 p.m. listening party on Capitol Hill.

You can buy the album at Sonic Boom starting at midnight.

The band will play the Sasquatch festival May 25.
