McCain didn't lose Boeing the tanker contract. Boeing did. Boeing's had it easy for so many years and hasn't had ANY competition until now. And they lost. Can't rest on your laurels is the old saying and Boeing has been. So go and whine as much as you want, but until you go out and truly compete, it's all you're going to do. McCain only opened up the competition that wasn't there before. He didn't give the contract to NG. So quit the lying.

Timmeyah nailed it: The other tanker was superior in every respect, including the part where the Air Force could buy 167 for the price that idiot Patty Powerful tried to jam down our throats when SHE screwed this up.

Keep hammering McCain for this. His counter ad, where a fair and open process saved us billions, will blow up directly in the face of these people wasting their time, effort and money.

Boeing lost because they came out with a p...poor a...offer as compared to EADS. McCain had nothing to do about it. He did bring out a few years back, the corrupt-scandal dealings Boeing was carrying out in order to win the contract. So, Monica, it is not a matter of "you be the judge". Is a matter of facts. The loosers, in this case Boeing and the McCain haters can't learn the point that Boeing lost to a far superior design in every respect, with the additional beneffit to the Air Force and we the tax payers, that because of EADS'design, the Air Force may need fewer aircraft than it would have needed had dumb Boeing win the bid.
Get it Monica and the rest: Learn to be a looser when you are a looser. It's like in your "beloved" soccer game: A score of 1 wins over a score of 0...always!

it's more outsourcing,i'm sure they could have found an even better deal,maybe even china or maybe veitnam ..my point is we are "they" its our money it should stay in our country,even if it cost more...oh what i just had a better idea boing should have been aloud to have hired a bunch of illegal imigrunts who work for less money then you or i can afford to, not withstanding that boing workers are probly over paid.,.,

Patty Murray and Cantwell lost the contract for Boeing and now the Democrats that run the Boeing unions are trying to deflect blame. Having two powerless senators from our state puts Washington behind in the lobbying for everything from roads, mass transit and airplanes. Senators from the south got it done for their constituents, ours didn't.

Get your FACTS straight, the Air Force used bait and switch tactics...the Airbus jet will cost more to operate, has yet to be built (as opposed to Boeing having 3 already in service and picked by 2 other countries over Airbus).Guess some people just like their tax money subsidising the French. Wonder where the Air Force is going to get the money for all new hangers aroundd the world for this new plane to fit in...hey maybe the French government will subsidize those too.

YEP, everytime there was a hitch in the process, McGrumpy was right there, EVERY time, to make sure it went the way he wanted it to go..

He flies a DONATED A330 and has ex-EADS/Northup Grumman employees on his campaign staff...The EADS plane is LESS fuel effecient, plus we will be giving our Fuel Boom tech, as well as our contol over tanker technology to the French..who sell to ANYBODY and EVERYBODY...

This STINKS of a National Security issue from the neck down, and McGrumpy is up to his eyeballs in it...

To those of you who think Boeing simply lost the contract fair and square, wake up! We're not talking here about two American companies going at it. This is a major departure for the US. We are now going to be outsourcing not only jobs, but sensitive military hardware. Even if Boeing blew the contract, which is a laugh if you care to look at the facts that are emerging, this is still wrong. The Air Force, in the first few days after the contract was announced, did a masterful job of imprinting on the gullible American psych that the EADS bid was far superior. People have since stopped paying attention as the real facts emerge. Some of them are 1. The specs were changed in the middle of the game,and nobody told Boeing. (Air Force does not dispute this). 2. The Air Force did not consider the cost to the American economy from lost jobs due to the award to France. (Air Force admits this) 3. The Air Force didn't even consider the fact that Alabama has no aerospace workers and even worse, no factory, to assemble the plane. (Air Force does not dispute this.), and finally, 4. the EADS tanker will not fit in at least half of the hangers, or work on half the runways it must use in this country (Air Force does not dispute this). 5. EADS did a masterful job of lobbying for the contract (Boeing blew it in this regard), and its two top lobbyists are McCain's top political advisors now. 6. McCain basically ordered the Air Force not to consider in its deliberations the fact that the US is currently suing the European Union for unfair subsidies for Air Bus. So on the one hand we're suing them, and on the other we're giving them a $35 billion contract with thousands of jobs and military secrets.

Barach Oboma was a follower of the Reverend Wright for a number of years and has talked about the good things the minister has done (in his opinion) but not much about the false accusations made by him and his church concerning their concern ( in their opinion) for the egregious acts committed by the U.S. Govt.
Now Barach is affiliated with George Soros whose views about our society and politics are well known. The speech made by Barach closely reflect George's views on our country and his political science views namely the validity of our constitutional rights which include - the right to bear arms and freedom of religion.
I remember the Communists used to refer to our freedom of religion as a narcotic of the masses' .I am concerned that Barach's speech was a trial balloon to see how the public will react to Barach's/ George Soros opinions and the direction they want the United States to go.
