Video games to rock Benaroya Hall

Who says awesome scores are just for movies?

Saturday at 1 p.m., the Seattle Symphony will rock Benaroya Hall with something tech-savvy Seattle can really appreciate -- songs from video games. Themes from "Super Mario Bros.," "the Legend of Zelda" and even "Halo" will all be part of this encore presentation of "Play! A Video Game Symphony."

Marty O'Donnell, composer for all three Halo games, is one of two Seattle composers represented in the repertoire. The show also features creations by Jeremy Soule, composer for the games "Oblivion" and "Guild Wars."

The Saturday matinee was added by popular demand to the band's Seattle schedule, which included a performance Thursday night. Tickets for Saturday's event are still available online.

For now, check out this clip of Bungie's O'Donnell working on the Halo 3 trailer, filmed during a visit by Wired Magazine editor Chris Anderson, according to its YouTube page and tell us -- what are your favorite video game theme songs? Personally, I'm partial to "Legend of Zelda." Oh, Link. How I love thee.
