Kucinich had a UFO encounter in Washington state, according to MacLaine

You know, I kind of like Dennis Kucinich -- his heart is in the right place -- but his nutty friends kind of ruin things for his presidential bid.

Case in point: Kucinich's hometown paper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports that his pal Shirley MacLaine (you already know where this is going) wrote in her latest book that ...

Kucinich "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there," the actress, a close Kucinich friend, wrote. "Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him.

"It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

To me, this is no less nutty than some of the descriptions I've heard of people having a big religious experience or halo-infused spiritual awakening. To middle America, though, a UFO encounter will just be too much. Not that Kucinich ever had a prayer anyway.

It sad people like you support the kind of character assassination that you're allowing with this blog about Dennis Kucinich. One of the only politicians I know of that actually walks his talk when it comes to his voting record. Mr Kucinich has more than a chance or a prayer. More and more people are seeing that his record speaks for itself. Which is more than I can say for many of the other candidates and especially Hillary Clinton.

I don't think your link to a hometown paper with hear say from some nutty person is basis for tearing someone down. How little of you and pathetic.

Have a nice day : )

These triangles are real. Regardless, It is not scientific to reject claims out of hand. The author should reconsider hid/her statements.

I bet you won't hear about Hillary seeing a UFO.

I mean, hey, if you were an alien race keeping a watchful eye on your fellow "competitors" in the universe, what better man to target on Earth than Kucinich?

Kucinich represents ideas to unite our planet. Ideas for peace, prosperity. Ideas to progress humanity into a state that would ultimately enable the human race to evolve beyond killing one another and focus on helping one another reach a higher goal.

It wouldn't make sense for aliens to target Hillary.

Hillary (and most other candidates for that matter) will do a fine job of keeping us at war, preoccupied with scuffling with ourselves. The aliens probably like the idea of one less planet to keep an eye on.

Oh, and just a fun fact.. NASA says there are approximately 1 zillion stars in the universe.

That's 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars that are like our sun.

You think the odds for winning the lottery are bad? The odds that we aren't alone in the universe are even worse.

(Sure this comment is written slightly tongue-in-cheek, but there is something to think about.)

Keep doing what you're doing Kucinich.

Isn't it like 1 out of every 10 American have seen or know someone who has seen a UFO? So what! I've even seen a few! And it does not necessarily mean it was ET, it could have been military. Personally, I don't care if the next president has seen a UFO or not. I just hope we DO NOT have another religious nut WARMONGER in the White House!

Kucinich rocks, and at least his cohorts arent caught in public bathrooms trying to get gay sex. Also I doubt the validity of the story, It was probably written as a smear campaign by a crossdressing sadistic 9/11 acomplice republican.

I agree that this is a waste of space in a paper as generally respectable as the PI. This is more petty smear. Kucinich is the candidate who has demonstrated throughout his whole political career the most integrity of any of the presidential candidates - of either party. He has more than a prayer of winning. Any legitimate candidate has a chance, provided people vote for him/her. And the candidate who promotes single-payer nonprofit expanded Medicare universal health care, has had an Iraq exit strategy since 2003, and has the guts to cancel NAFTA and pull the U.S. out of the WTO deserves our respect and our vote.

Our country is in grave danger and a "Corporate Owned" and "CFR membered" candidate will put that danger right back into the White House.

I will not be voting for anyone else but Dennis Kucinich in the upcoming elections.

Vote KUCINICH 2008!

Hey #59918,

How is something that gets reported a personal attack? Did Shirley Mclain actually report this, why yes she did so toss a shoud her way for being a nut but don't blame the blogger for reporting it. If it's the truth, it's not an attack you fruit loop.

Character assassination, wow that is just funny. How many real character assassination articles/blogs have been written about people you don't like, were you as vocal about them as well true or no? Somehow I doubt it. Grow up.

#60295,

Impeach Cheney? Why, shouldn't you do something worthy of being impeached first. Where do you clowns come from?

If the Constitution slapped Dennis Kucinich upside the head he'd wipe his rear with it and flush it, oh wait, he and his cronies already did that.

Elect him or people like him and we might as well be called France.

9/11 accomplice and now all Republicans are crossdressers. Sounds like the typical commentary of a tolerant liberal who is anything but. I'd love to hear your theory about how the US blew up it's own buildings on 9/11, I bet it might match up nicely with how the Holocaust didn't really happen. Moving to Iran soon are you?

As a Cleveland resident, and more than a bit familiar with Dennis throughout his career, I wish to inform all those out there who think Dennis is a flake that he is not. I
have it on very good authority that Dennis has already formed an alliance with the Lizard People that live beneath Earth's surface and the Cylons to overthrow the
Emperor Ming and reclaim the Cloud City. Go Dennis!!
P.S....Dennis should try talking more to the trees instead of smoking them....

It seems to me that if Kucinich did indeed see a UFO as MacLaine claims, he would have told us about it. Was has he got to lose? It's not like we don't already think he's a lunatic anyway.

Thank God you've pointed this out and saved us from Kucinich.

Now we can elect one of the nuts who doesn't believe in evolution, thinks the world is less than 6000 years old and that we have a God-given mission to bring on Armageddon.

Yipee!

Great post 61146! What is the difference between Kucinich seeing a triangle shaped UFO that police, military, and the common man have reported seeing for 30 years...vs. George Bush saying God tells him to do things?

Hypocritical by the media and by society...how is a universe full of more stars than slivers of sand on Earth odd to have other life forms besides us? The scientists believe in it, that's why they look at the stars and send robots to Mars...yet it's moonshine nutty time for everyone else. For those interested: http://www.ufoevidence.org/topics/triangles.htm

I'd rather trust a UFO witness than a guy that talks to God. God doesn't tell you how to kill people, he would tell you how to enlighten people.

What is wrong about seeing a UFO. It seems honestly stupid and ignorant to not believe there is other forms of life out there in the universe. It is one thing to say you have never personally experienced anything relating to extraterrestrial form of life, but to denounce it for this reasons seems stupid. How could people think in the whole UNIVERSE there is no other forms of life?

Hillary is an alien an insectoid to be exact but she has about a good enough chance of being our new president as Homer Simpson...Thanks to the Masons...go Masons!...by the way I have seen this triangle also and Im pretty sure I have been abducted..serously
