If you want to sing tonight: Cineoke!

Why, oh why, did we not have Cineoke! on our radar before? Well, we're gonna make up for it now! We're going tonight to check it out. Thanks to our friends in today's "Going Out" page, we know it's got a lot of potential. What is it? It's karaoke -- sung to show tunes. But not just any show tunes! They have the musical episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- "Once More With Feeling" (familiar to anyone who went to the singalong at the Egyptian a few weeks ago) -- and they have "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," AND they have "Moulin Rouge."

This is all going down from 8 to 10 TONIGHT at the Rendezvous, 2322 Second Ave, Seattle; 206-441-5823.

Choose from the 60 DVD titles they have, including old faves like "Annie" (you know you want to belt out "It's the Hard-Knock Life"), "Chicago" and "Grease." Yes, yes, we know there were musicals before that, and they have those, too, including "Pal Joey," "Oklahoma" and "South Pacific." See you soon. We'll be back -- with postings from some of our singers and videos of some of the performances.

PictureI guess the Kapow people are just like the Sonics. Moving away because of ownership and the fans lose out."
