Pathetic Performances

The Washington Huskies have been outscored 127-51, meaning that their three conquerors have averaged 42.3 points per game. At that abysmal rate, the Huskies will allow 508 points this season, or 97 more than the school-record 411 they permitted last year. The Washington State Cougars have been outscored 150-33 and are allowing an astounding 330 rushing yards per game. It's hard to tell which is uglier: WSU's rushing defense or the Huskies' pass defense. UW is allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game.

You be the judge: Which defense is worse?

Both schools need major help and I don't think Tyrone or Wolfie can provide it.

Citizen, agreed. Incredibly pathetic play from both schools and honestly embarassing to the state of Washington that we cannot put better teams together. I have friends on the East Coast who just laugh at the NW football and ask when am I going to realize we don't have 'real division I football' in the PNW. Seasons and performances like this just solidify these positions with them. Oh well....maybe it's time to jump to the USC bandwagon as So Cal seems to put out just one awesome team after another. Maybe the kids in So Cal just want it more?

This is heart breaking. Tyrone's problem is that he expects his kids to act with class and respect. He sets rules. Players now-a-days want to act like turds and don't want restrictions. I think he loses a lot of recruits because of it. Don't change Tyrone you are good dude. GO DAWGS! GO COUGS!

First of all, nobody was talking like this about Washington football (especially UW)in the 80's and 90's, so to say that we are in a major rut would be more accurate than saying "when are you going to realize that we don't have Div. 1 football in the State of Washington". Tyrone Willingham was left with a HUGE mess, but it is year 4, and more should be expected than 0-3 and no defense, these are his players now, his system now. In his defense (no pun), we are VERY young in key positions (whole defensive line, save Teo' Neshiem) with a new defensive co-ordinator, so this team (most likely not this year) has a LOT of potential. To answer the question regarding Cougs vs. Dawgs, hands down WSU is worse, comparing competition.
