Think there will be Duck at the Stoops family Thanksgiving?

Has there ever been a college football season with more odd twists and turns?

And it's a good bet it's not over. Write any team you want into the national title game, but do so in pencil.

The most likely scenario? LSU vs. the Big 12 champion, but it's not hard to imagine some wacky scenarios after No. 2 Oregon lost at Arizona and probably also lost quarterback Dennis Dixon, the now-former Heisman Trophy frontrunner, for the season to a knee injury.

(And were you like me watching the game: Oregon was on its way to winning by 30, but when Dixon got hurt, I instantly felt like they were going to lose).

The way I see the BCS picture:

1) There's a three-way brawl in the Big 12 between Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The team that wins out in all likelihood will play for the national title

-OU plays at Texas Tech and then is at home vs. rival Oklahoma State. Then the Big 12 title game vs. North Division winner Kansas or Missouri.

-Unbeaten Kansas plays host to Iowa State this weekend then takes on Missouri in Kansas City (a neutral field) on Nov. 24. Winner of that tilt goes to Big 12 title game.

-Missouri might be tested this weekend at inconsistent Kansas State. The once-beaten Tigers then get Kansas -- a victory over the Jayhawks then would give them a chance to redeem their only defeat vs. Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game.

2) If all three get upset along the way, that opens the door for West Virginia (at Cincinnati on Saturday, then Connecticut and Pittsburgh).

OR... oh gosh... Ohio State, which finishes its season at Michigan on Saturday.

3) And if all of the above stumble, ladies and gentlemen, welcome Arizona State back into the hunt, if, of course, the Sun Devils sweep USC (Thanksgiving Day) and rival Arizona.

4) No, we didn't forget No. 1 LSU, the team I think is clearly the best in the country (particularly with Dixon going down). The Tigers must win at Ole Miss this weekend, beat Arkansas and then win the SEC title game over probably Georgia or perhaps Tennessee.

In other words, this is a legitimate eight-team race for two spots and each team faces losable games.

Buckle up.

My most likely scenario: LSU-Oklahoma.

My favorite scenario: LSU-West Virginia (rugged defense vs. sparkly offense; and keep in mind that West Virginia stomped the daylights out of Mississippi State, which whipped Alabama and Auburn, which both should have beaten LSU, which, oh by the way, stomped the daylights out of Mississippi State).

---I really hope Jake Locker doesn't play against California, despite his practicing a bit Thursday.

While it would be, on one level, inspiring if he did -- you know, going all Willis Reed -- I don't want to watch the game fretting every hit he takes. I want to watch Jake play three more years and become the best QB in UW history.

There is no reason to take a chance, even if the Doctors say he's good to go.

---What's wrong with California? Jon Wilner has some insight.

---Jason Whitlock considers the Bonds indictment and, as usual, sees thing differently than most. In San Francisco, Ray Ratto wonders if we should look to the Vick case to imagine where Bonds might be headed.

---The 2005 NFL draft class, particularly at the top, is starting to look like a bust.

---The Golden Boy and Stripper... the plot thickens... and so will your stomach lining.

Have a great weekend.
