NBA Playoffs: First Round

So far in the 2008 NBA Playoffs we've had one sweep, three that have been won 4-1, and one 4-2.

Three more teams can join the Pistons tonight winning their series 4-2. There have been a fair share of suprises in the playoffs thus far.

Many were expecting plenty to come out of the Western Conference, but so far the top seed has prevailed in all of the series. The biggest suprise comes from the Eastern Conference, where the Atlanta Hawks won two at home after being dominated in the first two by the Boston Celtics.

In Game Four, the best player that no one knows about stepped up in the fourth to led the Hawks to victory. This series has been fun to watch, with the matchup of the best record in the NBA going against a team that is eight games under .500.

Other suprises come from the Spurs and Suns series, many expected this series to go longer than five games, but the Spurs showed that they were ready to defend their title.

In the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Hornets series Chris Paul made a push for his MVP campaign. His numbers were amazing for his first playoff series. However, since the MVP is for the regular season the voters should ignore his playoff performance.

The second round of the playoffs looks promising.
