« Flag Football Diaries, part 2 - First Game | Main | Student designers impress at 'Project Red Dress' »
The Sonics have dropped a franchise record-tying 13 in a row. The game was horrible from the Sonics' point of view. The Sonics were losing by 21 points by the end of the first half. They did make a comeback and eventually lost by 9.
It wasn't all bad for Seattle fans. Marvin Williams, a Bremerton native, put up a good show for the crowd. Williams had a career high of 33 points in his homecoming. He connected on 12 of his 20 shots from the field.
This was Williams' best game of the season and his best performance returning home. In his previous visit to Seattle, Williams did not get to play due to a hand injury. The year before that, he was a rookie and didn't have much of an impact.
Williams scored 11 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter to hold off the Sonics.
Chris Wilcox lead the Soincs with 18 points. Kevin Durant had 17 points, but connected with only 7 of his 21 shots. He had simliar numbers with 21 points in their previous meeting on Nov. 16 but he had a game-winning three in double overtime.
The Sonics' next game is Sunday against the Sacramento Kings, who beat them in their last meeting on Nov. 6. If they lose against the Kings, the streak will most likely extend to 15 games when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 29.
