Car- and passenger-ferry service from Tacoma to Vashon Island was was restored late Wednesday afternoon after a failed circuit breaker was replaced in the steering system of the ferry Hiyu.
The ferry was taken out of service late in the morning, missing the 11:25 a.m. sailing from Vashon, said ferry system spokeswoman Hadley Greene. The ferry was back on the route at 4 p.m.
While it was out, alternate car-ferry access to the island was through Southworth on the west side of Puget Sound or from Fauntleroy on the east side.
