Rove debate means Edwards out as VP?

Fivethirtyeight.com speculates that '04 Democratic running mate John Edwards is out as a possible Barack Obama partner because he has agreed to debate former Bush White House political czar Karl Rove in late September.

John Edwards is pretty enough to debate Karl Rove but he sure isn't smart enough. Maybe he should stick to chasing ambulances!

Yeah, that Karl Rove is quite the smart guy. He and Cheney did their level best to run this country right into the ground over the last 8 yrs while keeping all of their fat cat pals very happy.

Success !

It never ceases to amaze me how even conservatives can still defend these guys. Ah well, time to move on... with pleasure.

John Edwards will make mincemeat of Rove. This should be a great cage match, er, debate. Rove will not know what hit him, and of course all the neocons will say Rove "won," because they make their own reality you see.

Edwards is a former trial lawyer, so he is use to extensive preparation and to thinking on his feet. He'll hold his own against anyone.

I don't know - Rove might win this debate. He's never been bound by the truth, so he might run rings around an honest guy like Edwards.

Trial lawyers, honesty? Time for you to change pharmacies. The best thing Rove has going for him is he's not an attorney.

I cannot believe the Republican Party wants a Karl Rove, a criminal, representing them in a debate. What a disgrace.

Rove thumbed his nose at the Committee House Judiciary Subpoena. Said he is going to be a no show on July 10th

Edwards destroyed Cheney in the 04 debate so much that Cheney had to reference the wrong websites in his rebuttal. How quickly do these conservative neocons forget history. Oh well, I wish I could go through life altering reality to fatten my pocketbook.

This is addressed to wylee999,KMW,Lump,and those of like mind. Just because John Edwards is a trial attorney does not mean he is an "ambulance chaser". Some trial attorneys are and some are not. You should watch two movies based on fact; A Civil Action(1998)and Erin Brockovich(2000). Both were based on fact. One changed history and one almost bankrupted the firm in their quest for justice. I guess that the majority of voters can not see beyond "trial lawyer" that John Edwards will be the best President we never had. Look what we got with an "oil man." In 2000 gas was $1.25 a gallon.
