It ain't over 'til it's over

It looks like it's over in the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination, but wait -- West Virgina and Kentucky haven't voted yet, and they are prime Hillary Clinton territory. Jay Cost of realclearpolitics.com argues that there's still a path to victory for her.

It is possible that she could counter Tuesday's blowout with two big blowouts of her own in the next two weeks. This could undo most of the damage done by her big loss in North Carolina, and put her back on track.

By the time West Virginia and Kentucky vote, the superdelegate vote tally will have made Obama the defacto nominee. Clinton, hoping to go out with a victory to signal her political strength as a party insider, will concede after West Virginia. Of course, thats taking the mountaineers for granted.

The race for the white House will be exactly over the minute after Obama wins the Democratic nomination. This Dem will be more than happy to lay the blame sqaurely where it will lie, with those who supported him and of course the short sighted so call informed Superdelegates. This should be an easy win for McCain. Rest assured my only choice if Obama gets the nomination will be to vote for McCain. I simply cannot be partisan for an under qualified candidate who will not keep our country safe. GO HILL, GO HILL!!!!

perecorp,

Let me get this straight - you are a Clinton supporter, but you'll vote for McCain over Obama?

So perecorp,

You want four more years of what Bush brought us? I don't think the country can take four more years. And yes, he is more like Bush than he is unlike him.

I'm not a Democrat, it's just that Republicans have been repugnant the last 10 years.

Hillary or Obama. I don't care which as long as it isn't McCain.

Hillary is still in for one reason and one only (in my humble yet incredibly accurate opinion). The party PROMISED that if she did not divorce Bill over Monica (which would have finally put a stain on the Teflon king's dress), that SHE would be the nominee when she ran. It was her first big chip in the game and she's playing it all or nothing. That's why she can't be talked into bowing out, she knows where the bodies are buried. If she writes THAT book, the party may well be dead. If the AMerican people ever find out how THEY have been played....
