Rossi gains on Gregoire in new poll

GOP gubernatorial challenger Dino Rossi has closed the gap with Gov. Chris Gregoire in the latest Elway Poll.

Forty-three percent of respondents in the April survey said they were inclined to vote for Gregoire compared to 38 percent for Rossi. In a January Elway Poll the Democrat Gregoire led 48 percent to 35 percent.

Other results from the April poll include:

*Seventy-eight percent of Republicans say they support Rossi; 71 percent of Democrats support Gregoire.
*Among Independents Rossi led 39 percent to 35 percent.
*In Seattle Gregoire leads Rossi 54 percent to 28 percent while Rossi enjoys a 54 percent to 27 percent advantage in Eastern Washington.
*Gregoire leads in King County outside Seattle (41-35 percent).
*Rossi leads in Pierce and Kitsap counties 45 percent to 35 percent.

The survey of 405 registered voters in the state was taken April 21-22. The margin of error was 5 percent.

All right. Rossi all the way, get that fraud out of the office and get this State back to where I can be proud to hail from.

Oh spare me. Yeah, that's who we need for governor, a REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER who knows nothing about how to operate in Olympia. His transportation "proposal" is ample evidence of that - subsidize big Seattle projects at the expense of the rest of the state - without really defining exactly how to pay for all of it. God forbid anyone should have to pay a toll to drive their Hummer across a new 6 lane 520 bridge. But hey, GOP governance has sure worked well for the US as a whole....no wait, that was a disaster......I must have been thinking of the Eisenhower administration....

Rossi to win a second time. Let's not let KING county steal our election again. We need photo ID. Proof of U.S. citizenship.

Hello Dino and his buddy the job-slayer, Johnny McCain, who bragged about killing the Boeing tanker deal which would have meant 9,000 jobs in our state.

McCain, who appears on the cover of Dino's book, had this to say about jobs in Washington state: "Well, in all due respect, I saved $6 billion in killing off a bogus Air Force tanker deal."

Hello Dino, goodbye jobs.

Seems to be a good number of undecided in these polls.

If Rossi will push for some laws to start requiring I.D. and proof of legal residency before allowing people to get jobs here, he'll have MY vote.

Chris Grygiel,

Please,

Next time post a link to the Elway poll, so we can see the results firsthand.

Whoopeee!!!

Rossi finally starts campaigning and his poll numbers improve by three digits.

Too bad he has nothing to run on. The president he supported in 2004 has rating in the toilet. WA State has one of the highest business-friendly rankings in the country. He has finally said WHAT he would do about transportation but says we'll make up the billions of dollars shortfall by cutting from the budget. He plans on going AGAINST voters on the viaduct, and mandating a tunnel [which I was for also.... but a REPUBLICAN saying he'll MANDATE a billion dollar project against the voter's wishes?!!!]

Rossi won't happen. Deal with it.

How do you check voters' photo ID when we vote by mail??

405 is a very small sample size. A reliable poll should really have 1000-1500 respondents.

This is good information but too early to celebrate. There are several rules we need to keep in mind:
1) The dead voters have not yet been polled
2) The votes are always recounted until a Democrat wins.
If we can get by those- Woohoo!

Let's re-elect Rossi and stop the financial bleeding that is occuring down in Olympia!

"The votes are always recounted until a Democrat wins."

Except in Florida, huh?

Oh, and by the way. The judge from Red County who determined Rossi lost -- was that a bad call on Dino's part?

Results versus sour grapes? No contest.
