Super celebrity endorsements

With Super Tuesday upon us, it's time to see which candidate has the best celebrity endorsements. Here is a sampling of the each parties candidates and their backers.

Democrats

Clinton: Barbara Streisand (shocking), Brigitte Nielsen ('80s B-list actress), Jenna Jameson (former porn star), Jerry Springer, Jack Nicholoson

Obama: The Oprah (that's right, The Oprah), Zach Braff, Scarlett Johansson, Halle Barry, Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid), Larry David, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker

Republicans

Huckabee: Ric Flair (professional wrestler), Chuck Norris, Ted Nugent

McCain: Curt Schilling (Red Sox pitcher), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Tom Selleck, Rip Torn

Paul: John Mayer, Howard Stern, Arlo Guthrie

Romney:Donny and Marie Osmond, Ann Coulter, Pat Boone

Obama certainly has the best looking celebrity endorsements. For toughest celebrity endorsements, its a toss up between Huckabee and McCain. (I don't think Ralph Macchio would last long against Sly or Chuck Norris.) While Clinton has plenty of respectable endorsements from non-celebrities (who's views actually matter in politics), she does have the sleaziest celebrity endorser, Jerry Springer.

But do celebrity endorsements even matter? Sometimes with specific audiences, according to a Pew Center study. Mental Floss has a brief history of the celebrity endorsement.

"Sleazy" can be subjective & varies... I've never been a fan of Jerry Springer, but I'll take him anyday over Ann Coulter.
