Republicans like to cook meat

The Associated Press asked presidential candidates what their favorite food was to cook. Almost to a person Republicans said they liked meat, especially red meat. While there were meat-loving Democrats, a couple had some interesting responses. For example Rep. Dennis Kucinich reports liking to cook "hot water." He's a vegan.

PERSONAL SIDE: What's cooking with the presidential hopefuls!
By The Associated Press"

Republican presidential candidates are literally red-meat conservatives. So it seemed when The Associated Press asked presidential hopefuls from both parties what they like to cook. Democrats appear more diverse in the food they most like to prepare.
The survey reveals Mike Huckabee still appreciates a good steak despite losing 110 pounds from a 280-pound frame after being diagnosed with diabetes in 2003.
AP asked the candidates a series of questions about their personal tastes, habits and backgrounds. Today's question and their answers:

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama: Chile

Well, that's interesting. Sen. Obama likes to cook South American countries? The traditional American spelling of the stew-like dish is "chili," not "chile." The word is based on the Spanish phrase "chile con carne," but I'm guessing this is just a typo, not Obama being bilingual.

I'm still trying to figure out how Bill Richardson cooks a diet milkshake.

Sky Bluesky: 'The traditional American spelling of the stew-like dish is "chili," not "chile."'

Please don't give me the Blueskies by starting the Texas-New Mexico Chile(i) War again. "Chile" is certainly used in the American Southwest. It usually refers to traditional Native American or mestizo chile dishes, or variations on them, which don't include beans. Or cheese, or ketchup, or whatever the hell else got thrown in the pot by the newcomer "chili" crowd.
