Blogging Georgetown notes a couple of interesting things coming up in the neighborhood.
The annual garden walk is July 13.
The Center on Contemporary Art will have a two-day painting marathon Aug 8 and Aug. 9.
During the event, artists create for 24 hours straight (that's the marathon part), then there are a series of silent and live auctions to benefit Seattle's Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) on the second day.
It will be at the original Rainier Brewery in Georgetown.
The West Seattle reports construction will begin next week on the new Statue of Liberty plaza at Alki.

Washington. Course I live in the Georgetown one in Washington, D.C. What is the one in Seattle like? It seems to be an up and coming area that is being revamped? Am I reading it wrong?
