Attention Single Men!

The Seattle Humane Society currently has more than 400 cats in need of homes - what a staggering number!

I was brainstorming with the blog team about how to find these fantastic felines homes of their very own. What could we do differently to attract the exposure they deserve?

The problem certainly couldn't be HOW we are spreading our message. Seattle Humane shouts from the rooftops (ok, online and on radio and tv), cracking open our thesauruses to tell you about our, friendly, sweet, furry, funny, adorable, clever kittens and cats.

Perhaps the problem is to WHOM we are we are spreading our message. Maybe there is a section of the population that would be prime for providing homes, but for some reason, they just haven't considered all the wonderful reasons to adopt.

A light bulb went off as it hit me - Single Men! This is the target audience we have been missing. I might not be on a rooftop, but I'm talkin to you!

Single Men out there!
You need to "plump up" your dating resume?! Think flatter abs or a fatter wallet would get the attention of the ladies? Think again! Let's face it; women love a man who can make a commitment.

Does the thought of a baby have you running for the door?
Does the reality of a dog's dependency have you appreciating your self- sufficient plants?
A cat might be the perfect complement to your lifestyle.

They are proud, sleek, and independent like you. If you find yourself out late at night, your loyal companion will be just fine, patiently awaiting your return. They understand your need to prowl!

Your feline companion won't even mind if you watch sports 24/7; the longer you sit, the more chances of some serious cuddle time. When and if you settle down, you will find that your loyal companion doesn't mind sharing your affections. Two laps are twice as good as one!

We also understand that you might be saving your pennies. You can't wine and dine the ladies with only your charm and personality! That's why for the month of December, you can adopt a cat on us! That's right, all cats over one year old are on us; our holiday gift to you.

Take a look at all the cats that are up for adoption, or stop by and visit the Seattle Humane Society.

Still feeling a little tight around the collar about making a commitment? Consider temporary fostering! A rewarding experience with no strings attached! Fostering literally expands the shelter walls as it gives us additional space and time to find every animal in our care the home they deserve.
Now that we have the attention of Single Men, do any of our readers have another demographic group in mind? Please email any ideas.
Seniors? Divorcees? Come on, let's stretch our imaginations and find these felines homes to call their own.
