« Eye in the sky: Crane operator fingers fugitive | Main | Is the left lane really just for passing? »
The tower cranes in downtown Bellevue don't just help with construction projects, police say. Monday morning, one helped police capture a fugitive.
About 10:25 a.m., a 35-year-old Bellevue man wanted for violating probation jumped out of a window in his third-story apartment to flee from police and corrections officers at his door.
With police on his tail, the man ran across a construction site at 112th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Fourth Street.
Construction workers pointed out where the suspect had run, but police realized the crane operator 240 feet above the site could help even more.
