Sure the economy is in the tank and more than 3.44 million people were getting unemployment benefits late last month – a five-year-high.
But one Burien man found a strange way to take out his aggression.
On Aug. 30, a Seattle police officer was dispatched to the 6200 block of Phinney Avenue North where a 20-year-old man was breaking passenger-side mirrors.
The officer stopped the suspect, who had a bloody coat and a bleeding left hand, near North 67th Street and Phinney Avenue North. A man told police he saw the suspect breaking the mirrors in the 6200 block of Phinney Avenue North.
The suspect told police he'd cut his hand in the kitchen where he worked. But he later changed his tune, according to the responding officer's report released Thursday.
"After he was taken into custody, [the suspect] said that he 'did it' because he couldn't find work and he was mad."
The man bled on several vehicles along his path of destruction, according to the report. Officers found eight cars with broken side mirrors.
Police estimated damage to the eight vehicles at $1,000.

Given the PI's current focus on mental health issues and their association with criminal activity, I think it would be very intersting to see some followup reporting on this incident. Does he need help? Will he get it? How much will he get?
