Yakima man wanted for murder caught in Texas

A man wanted on first-degree murder warrants in Yakima was arrested Sunday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at an El Paso, Texas border crossing.

Salvador Nava Alvarez, 26, was nabbed about 4 a.m. after he entered the pedestrian inspection area and gave identification documents as required under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

Authorities believe Nava Alvarez was a gang member who got in a fight on May 13, 2001 with rival gang Antone Masovero, Yakima Police Sgt. Scot Levno said.

"They exchanged some words on a street corner," he said. "Salvador walked up to the car where Antone was sitting in the back seat of a car and shot him in the head twice.

"We suspect it was in retaliation for an earlier gang death in Yakima," he added.

Nava was in the El Paso County Jail on Monday awaiting extradition to Yakima.

Same the time and money and let him go, but first let the gangbangers in Yakima know where he is and his name. A gangbanger kills another gangbanger isn't such a bad idea just as long as no innocent people are killed they can kill each other till they're all gone.

you wouldnt say that if this was your family member you had to mourn for and watch his parents cry over, and hold his 14 yr old sisters hand at the funeral and hold her again as they put him in his final resting place as she fell to her knees. You dont know half of his story! did you know he was only part of this unfortunate crowd for 2 weeks prior to his death, and he did not even shoot the other gangbanger piece of crap his life was taken for? he only got mixed up with this crowd cuz his "cousin" was a part of it. Dont get me wrong, yakima is full of gangs and thugs who need to be sent back south! i know! but sometimes kids are in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong crowd, and take the heat. he wasnt even 21 yet. His birthday was 2 days ago, and what a great present we got! we could have not asked for a better gift than this stupid person who finally made a stupid mistake and thought he could get away with murder! not so! i hope he gets even longer sentence for being a sissy boy and running home to mexico! while his accomplance did his time. who of course has since gotten out, and I might add is back in walla walla for another assault! behaviours start at home people! a little discipline goes a long way! love your children and be parents and care. care who they hang out with and know their friends! be involved!

And what most people don't know is that that "gangbanger" was trying to get out. He went to police crying that he was scared that something was going to happen to him. He even moved to Seattle to try and make it work. When it didn't he went back to the only place he knew as home and look what he got for it!!! He didn't want to be a part of the crap in that city and expressed that over and over again. Did the cops protect him? Get your answer at the cemetery!!!

I hope the Catholic Priest that that gave his euology stuck to his word and didn't do any more funerals for gangbangers. Imagine if he did, the bangers would have to tell their momma's they couldn't have a catholic funeral. The father said he was sick of burying so many young people and that the waste of youth made him sick. Go Father!
