« Seattle Public School troubles | Main | Busy boat »

I thought this was a wonderfully joyous moment that really spoke to this family's situation and why they were in Seattle on this particular day. They had traveled to meet the SPD officer that gave a life-saving bone marrow transplant to young Luke. The colors in this frame really work- it's like Easter or spring, the season of rebirth and hope. The shot didn't make the cut largely because it doesn't show Luke's face or Officer Yamanaka, but it's often these side moments that end up being my favorite pictures.
