And now for an artistic diversion.
Only at first glance do "Moving Target" and "Bullseye," two works by artist Maggie Orth unveiled at the McLeod Residence Friday, look like traditional textiles.
Stay and watch a minute longer and they change, thanks to a a little heat and a bit of technology woven into the fabric.
Behind each set of circles is a microprocessor programmed to carry heat through different parts of each panel. Conductive yarn and heat-sensitive paint react to change the color of the work before viewers' eyes.
"The idea that a physical material can interact with computation (is) very interesting to me," Orth said Friday. "I'm always looking fornew ways to break boundaries in art."
And fashion. Orth's site features products made with electronic textiles, like fuzzy light switches that dim lights at the softest touch.

That's very cool. It reminds me of mood rings from the 70's! Heh! So this is like mood art...sorta redundant I guess, but cool none-the-less.
