« Ponytailed Software Geek, you're no NW icon | Main | Windows exec Poole leaving Microsoft (Update) »
A quick scheduling note for anyone tracking the case of Carolyn Gudmundson, the former Microsoft domain manager who pleaded guilty to mail fraud after she was charged in a complex scheme to steal money from the company: Gudmundson's sentencing date, previously set for last Friday, has been pushed back to May 16, at the agreement of the lawyers in the case, according to the court docket. (A couple people have e-mailed me about this today, wondering if the sentencing had happened.)
Catherine Crisham, an assistant U.S. attorney in Seattle, said via phone just now that it was a routine change due to the parties' schedules, not signaling any meaningful development in the case. By law, Gudmundson faces as many as 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000, but her actual sentence won't be known until next month.

Q: Why can't Microsoft buy 'Coolness'? A: Because Coolness has a poison pill in its contract in the event of a Microsoft takeover.
