Tony Scott, most recently a Walt Disney Co. executive, was named Microsoft's new chief information officer on Thursday, putting him in charge of the company's internal computer network and technology systems. The position was previously held by Stuart Scott (no relation), who was dismissed by Microsoft in November after an investigation into violation of company policies, the details of which were never publicly disclosed.
Tony Scott, 56, was previously Disney's chief information officer. At Microsoft, he'll oversee an organization of 4,000 people and report to Kevin Turner, the company's chief operating officer. He starts next month.
