Recruiting via keyword?
Is Google trying to send a not-so-subtle message to Microsoft researcher Susan Dumais? Check out the paid ad that appears in the upper right when you search for her name in one popular search engine. (Via Robert Scoble.)

Google does that for a bunch of IR researchers. For example, a Google search for "Usama Fayyad" brings up a Google jobs ad in the top slot ("Machine learning expert?", the ad asked, when I tried it).
The ads probably are targeting researchers in the machine learning community who are searching for the name, not the person specifically.
That's not to say that Google isn't trying to recruit Susan Dumais. They probably are. She's done some very interesting work in personalization and search.
You people still see ads on the net? Wow. How 1999.
