High-end versions coming
He didn't go into much detail, but Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer this morning said the company will introduce higher-end versions of its core programs, including an enterprise edition of Windows Vista and a premium version of Microsoft Office. He described that plan as part of a broader opportunity for "phenomenal growth" in the company's core businesses. But he also conceded that he has some convincing to do, acknowledging that many people who follow the company aren't as optimistic as he is about its growth prospects.
