Profiling Mimi Gates
P-I art critic Regina Hackett has an interesting profile today of Seattle Art Museum director Mimi Gates, the Microsoft co-founder's stepmom.

I was a Yale undergrad when Mimi was director of the museum, and thought she was pretty fab: I was working a bursary job at the Yale Center for British Art across the street, and treasured both the inexpicably informally named BAC (its initials are YCBA, but go figure) and the main art gallery.
The sculpture garden behind the gallery must have been part of the inspiration for the Seattle one: I can only remember the Henry Moore sculptures!
