I visited Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center last February with volunteer Skyler Leonard. Little Bit is dependent on its large pool of volunteers to be able to provide therapeutic riding, as well as additional funding, at anything like an affordable cost to parents. At the time I visited Little Bit, their head instructor Jenny Nell Schulte told me they were looking for a new facility. The limitations of the current barn, conjured up out of a converted chicken farm, meant they had a waiting list a year long to get into the program.

That's a lot of kids without smiles on their faces.

Over the summer, I heard a rumor or two about possible deals, but now it's official:

Little Bit is moving to Simpatico Stables, right in the shade of Farrel-McWhirter Park in Redmond. They'll even have their own racetrack, the quarter mile track that you can see from Avondale Road that I used to ogle when I passed. No races are planned, but what a great place for an intro "trail ride" for the kids.
