On September 20 -22, 2007, at San Francisco's renowned Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, West Coast Green is giving the residential green building market the event it's been wanting: a full scale 3-day conference and expo.
West Coast Green surprised the nation in 2006 by attracting 9,000 professionals and homeowners from all 50 states and 14 nations to its three-day inaugural event. This year's conference will host presentations delivered by over 250 political leaders, industry analysts, green building experts and national celebrities. The list includes some of the building trades' most sought after experts including Sarah Susanka, Michelle Kaufmann, Bob Berkebile, Cameron Sinclair, David Eisenberg, Tom Paladino, Eric Corey Freed, Ed Mazria and many others.
Celebrated for its unique "Homeowner Day", West Coast Green opens its doors on the final day to the general public. Homeowners looking to design and build a new, energy-efficient green home, or those looking to upgrade the efficiency of their existing homes, will benefit from walking the tradeshow floor, abounding with hundreds of products and services to build, remodel, power, insulate, clean, furnish and finance their green homes.
To boost public awareness about green building and facilitate that paradigm shift, West Coast Green has partnered with Extreme Green Homes and Sunset Magazine to construct a high-performance green home in San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall and the Bill Graham Civic Center where West Coast Green is held. Designed by Michelle Kaufmann, the mkLotus home is built utilizing off-site modular technology and promises to feature the most advanced green technology and sustainable materials available on the market.
