Here's a story of a Japanese woman who has logged 250,000 miles and is still going. Wow - I admire a lot about her decision to journey.
Here is a comment from a poster who met Makiko Sugino:
She is riding a black and blue Yamaha 250 with haphazard luggage, she is pretty easy to spot as I don't think she ever goes over 40mph. Keep an eye out for her over this summer, she told me this final portion of her journey will take four months. Unlikely she will actually need any assistance, but it is always nice to be offered. She has a budget of about $10 per day so hotels and hot meals are usually out of the question for her. So if nothing else, a warm meal would probably be much appreciated and she will re-pay you with some of the most amazing travel tales you have ever heard. She is truly an amazing individual.
Hat tip to forum member Swan from Adventure Rider and Linda from Raven's Road.
And she apparently has no interest in self-promotion and no website. This is very cool. Imagine doing this on $10 per day for five years. She apparently worked seven days per week to save up the money for the trip. Double wow.
Be sure to scroll down the post to see the map of her travels and read the comments - they are great. This woman is an inspiration.
