« Tulips and Bricks II | Main | Garden Pathways »
Grab a cup of coffee. Stroll around the garden in the early morning. Contemplate the new growth, feel the fresh air, and discover small beautiful scenes that you missed last week. Enjoy one of life's pleasures.
Until June, when the gaps and bare spots begin to fill in with lush greenery, my emphasis is to capture little scenes and delicate forms.
The coloring and texures of the fence seemed ideal as a backdrop for the tender leaves and purple flowers of the perennial sweet pea (Lathyrus vernus).

The exquisite and chequered fritillaria was obscure. A tulip blossom located about 6 feet beyond provided a perfect orange luminescence as a backdrop to halo the blossom.
