Goodbye Candlestick

When the Seahawks visit San Francisco in November, they won't be going to Candlestick. The stadium is now known as Monster Park.

And no, it isn't named after monster.com (which is what I and others here thought when the name was announced). The park will take its name from Monster Cable, a Bay Area consumer electronics company.

Your guess as to why Monster Cable would spend $6 million on this deal is as good as mine.
