Cool show alert: House of Song w/Hoquiam (a.k.a. Damien Jurado), J. Tillman Thursday @ THe Anne Bonny

Picture

Fellow Seattle music scribe Aja Pecknold (you may know Aja's work from The Seattle Weekly) emailed me some info regarding a cool local event happening tomorrow.

Aja wrote a children's story called "House of Song" and it was illustrated by Joan Hiller. "House of Song" will be read at The Anne Bonny with performances by Ear Candy faves J. Tillman and Damien Jurado, who is performing as his new side project Hoquiam.

Here are the details:

HOUSE OF SONG
A story of tragedy, triumph and tunes by Aja Pecknold, brought to life with the beautiful illustrations of Joan Hiller with live songs performed by:

HOQUIAM (Damien Jurado) and
J. TILLMAN!
Thursday, March 20th 7pm
The Anne Bonny

Snacks will be served! Ants on a log! PB&J! Goldfish! White Russians!

Goldfish and White Russians, man what a combo. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the PB&J listed isn't Peter, Bjorn and John.

Here's a taste of "House of Song," you'll have to show up Thursday for the rest.

their's was a house of song.
from morning 'til night, there was a song on their lips
and a song in their hearts
for it all.

a song for gathering sticks,
for putting the kettle on,
for mending socks
and skipping stones
