It figures that my blogging tools to officially launch Cat Staff would come in on the first day of a six-day trip away from the little darlings. And yes, I do find myself missing them. There are a couple of cats running around here and I see them at a distance and wonder what havoc my little ones are wrecking on my house.
My usual cat-sitter is incredibly busy of late launching a new business, so I've enlisted a friend, who (completely unsolicited, I might add) offered (in addition to the usual food & litter box duties, to bring his laptop by the house a couple hours a day and set up in the living room to socialize with them. Just when I think they don't really notice whether I'm home or away, I'll return from a particularly long day of gym/work/late dinner, or a weekend away, and find they've acted out while I'm gone, or that they demonstrate heart-tugging displays of neediness.
It usually passes a few hours after I'm back and paying them attention again, and the world is right and back on their terms, of course.
