A couple of days ago we took in a motherless male kitten rescued by Dutch tourists. Stavi's about four to five weeks old and eats kitten food (mostly chicken). He hasn't made any feline pals around here yet, but purrs at our dogs when they lick his face. Two of our three pooches are first-class kitty washers.

I happened by a store selling assorted baskets for two euro each (most appeared to be dusty Easter baskets) and decided Stavi deserved one. Don't think we don't have plenty of kitty baskets around here already!

This one's only the size of a bread basket and he's yet to sleep in it - or even pay it any attention. Stavi snuggles in our fleece shirts or the soft blankets we have on the floor for him. Laps are also fine. Or atop a sleeping dog. What are the chances this basket will ever be occupied? Kittens are not easy creatures to persuade.
