But should we state the reason? It changes all the time.
Buzzworthy's reason must change weekly; it is so varied.

I think that it's really up to the blogger (or the blogging organization) whether to state the motivations flat out. In many cases, I think it's fairly obvious why a blog exists. However, over time, a blog's reason for existing may -- and perhaps should -- evolve.

Yes, Buzzworthy's purpose has changed over time, although perhaps not as dramatically as it might seem -- at least not in my mind. In a nutshell, Buzzworthy is a place where I post links (and, very occasionally, commentary) on stuff that I find interesting around the Web and which I think other people should read. That's it. Really.

If the content of this blog varies over time, it might be because what I consider interesting (or newsworthy or just plain odd) has changed as well. Or it might be because the world is moving ahead, too: topics that were once in the spotlight have now receded into the background and people aren't talking or writing about them nearly as much these days.

And, as with everything else at SeattlePI.com, I've adapted Buzzworthy's focus to emphasize the kinds of subjects in which readers show the most interest. That's based on page-views, number of comments and links from other blogs. Of course, that's evolved over time as well.
