Fun with PhotoStamps
The folks at The Smoking Gun decided to have some fun with the U.S. Postal Service's new personalized PhotoStamps.
They discovered that, although some high-profile criminals like Lee Harvey Oswald and Salvatore "Sammy Bull" Gravano aren't acceptable subjects for stamps, they will let you get away with foreign war criminals, convicted spies, Monica Lewinsky's infamous stained dress and Jimmy Hoffa. Even the Unabomber's high school photo slipped through, although more recent pics were rejected.
So, it looks like what's deemed inappropriate to be on a postage stamp really is in the eye -- and personal knowledge base -- of the beholder.
